In Uttar Pradesh, 26,373 Krishi Aajeevika Sakhis are going from village to village and connecting farmers with modern and natural farming. Farmers are being made self-reliant by making farming profitable through scientific techniques, animal husbandry and government schemes.
Lucknow. The direction and condition of farming in Uttar Pradesh is changing rapidly. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, 26,373 Krishi Aajeevika Sakhis have been deployed across the state, who are working to take the government’s agricultural schemes to the grassroots level. These Sakhis are going from village to village and teaching modern farming methods to the farmers and along with agricultural reform, they are also strengthening women empowerment.
Agricultural Livelihood Sakhis active in 75 districts and 826 development blocks
Krishi Aajeevika Sakhis, active in 826 development blocks of 75 districts of the state, are taking the farmers out of traditional farming and connecting them to scientific and sustainable farming. She is giving information about techniques like soil testing, organic fertilizer production, natural pest control, advanced seed selection and natural farming and is giving ways to reduce the cost of farming and increase production.
Cost is decreasing and production is increasing due to scientific techniques.
Krishi Aajeevika Sakhis are motivating farmers to use modern agricultural techniques. With these technologies, farmers are not only getting better production, but the expenditure on farming is also reducing. Due to this, farming is gradually becoming a profitable business.
Farmers’ income increasing from animal husbandry and poultry farming
Along with farming, alternative livelihood means like animal husbandry, poultry and goat rearing are also being promoted in rural and urban areas. Through these activities, farmers’ sources of income are increasing and they are becoming more economically self-reliant.
Krishi Aajeevika Sakhis connecting farmers with government schemes
According to Deepa Ranjan, Mission Director of the State Rural Livelihood Mission, Krishi Aajeevika Sakhiyan has become the strongest link for change in the farms and fields. Along with providing technical information to the farmers, these women are also working to connect them with various government schemes, due to which the direct benefits of the schemes are reaching the farmers.
Rural women are becoming the pivot of development
The goal of the Yogi government is clear – to make farming profitable and make rural women the main axis of development. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is now emerging as a model of women power, modern farming and self-reliant villages.
Awareness campaign for natural farming
With the aim of increasing the income of farmers, Krishi Aajeevika Sakhis are organizing awareness sessions for the promotion of natural farming in the entire state. This effort is rapidly moving Uttar Pradesh towards a self-reliant agricultural model.
