Yogi government is rapidly expanding paddy procurement under the goal of “Prosperous Farmers, Strong Uttar Pradesh”. 8.28 lakh MT paddy was purchased from 1.39 lakh farmers in 59 days. 5.44 lakh farmers registered.
Lucknow. Yogi government is rapidly achieving the goal of “Prosperous Farmers, Strong Uttar Pradesh”. Under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, paddy procurement is being constantly reviewed so that farmers do not face any kind of problem. The Food and Logistics Department is continuously monitoring the procurement process. The paddy procurement which started from October 1 in Western UP and November 1 in Eastern UP is getting full support from the farmers.
Bought 8.28 lakh metric tons of paddy from 1.39 lakh farmers in 59 days
Paddy procurement is progressing rapidly in the state. In 59 days from October 1 to November 28, 8.28 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 1,39,040 farmers. Whereas 5,44,502 farmers have registered to sell paddy. Going ahead of the target, 4225 procurement centers have also been established in the state.
Full benefit of MSP, facility of payment in 48 hours
Farmers are getting full benefit of minimum support price by selling paddy at purchasing centres. The government has made arrangements that the farmer gets the payment in his account within 48 hours. This has increased both their income and confidence.
Yogi government’s reform model visible on ground
Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the reforms made in the paddy procurement system are now clearly visible on the ground.

These steps have made the market system transparent and simple. Record purchases, relief to rice mills and new facilities for farmers are making them self-reliant. The government’s dream of “prosperous farmers, strong Uttar Pradesh” is fast being realized.
MSP Rates: Rs 2369 (Common) and Rs 2389 (Grade-A) per quintal
Paddy is being procured at the MSP of Rs 2369 per quintal (Common) and Rs 2389 per quintal (Grade-A).
- Western UP: Procurement continues from October 1 in Meerut, Saharanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi, Lucknow divisions (Lakhimpur Kheri, Hardoi, Sitapur).
- Eastern UP: Procurement is going on from November 1 in Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Kanpur, Chitrakoot, Devipatan, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Mirzapur, Basti, Varanasi, Unnao, Rae Bareli and Lucknow districts of Lucknow.
