Yogi government has prepared an autonomous state medical college in Amethi at a cost of Rs 300 crore. A 550-bed hospital, nursing college and new educational facilities will start by 2026, which will provide better health services to the entire area.
Amethi. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is continuously taking concrete steps to strengthen health services. In this context, the Autonomous State Medical College located in Tiloi tehsil of Amethi has emerged as a major achievement. This medical college, being built at a cost of about Rs 300 crore, is now almost ready and is proving to be a boon for the people of the area.
Preparation of 550 bed modern hospital facility
At present, health services are operated in the 200-bed hospital attached to the medical college. According to the government’s plan, a new 300-bed hospital and a 50-bed critical care block will be handed over by January 31, 2026. After this, the total bed capacity will become 550 beds, which will provide better medical facilities to Amethi and surrounding districts. The construction of the Nursing College is also expected to be completed during the same period.
Years old dream came true
There was a demand for a medical college in Amethi and surrounding areas for a long time. With this initiative of Yogi government, this dream of the people of the area is now coming true. By the year 2026, this institute will be fully established as a modern medical center with 500+ beds.
Rapid expansion of educational facilities
Academic activities are also increasing rapidly in the Autonomous State Medical College.
- MBBS Course: 100 seats approved
- Paramedical Diploma Course: 11 courses, total 230 seats
These include important courses like Anesthesia and Critical Care Technician, Blood Transfusion, Emergency and Trauma Care, Lab Technician, OT Technician and X-Ray Technician.
Preparation for DNB and B.Sc Nursing courses also
Preparations are on to introduce 60 seats in B.Sc Nursing from the academic session 2026–27. Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Anesthesia (Diploma) and Medicine (Degree) have been approved in DNB courses. Inspection for DNB seats in some other departments has been completed and results are awaited.
Modern medical facilities available in the hospital
OPD and indoor services are running regularly in the hospital attached to the medical college. More than 1000 patients are being treated daily in many departments including Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, ENT and Dermatology.

Further expansion of health facilities in the new year
Principal of the Medical College, Dr. Reena Sharma said that as per the intention of the government, along with the schemes, medical services are also being expanded continuously. He said that the executing agency Public Works Department is completing the construction work rapidly and further improvement in health services will be seen in the new year.
Construction work almost complete, finishing work in progress
Umesh Chandra, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department CD-2, said that the Medical College building has now become G Plus Six. Currently finishing work is going on. Apart from this, the construction work of Director Room, Nursing Block and Hostel is being done by CIDCO. The entire project is worth approximately Rs 300 crore.
