Lucknow. Yogi government has taken many concrete steps to protect the hard-earned money of the people of the state from cyber fraudsters. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, cyber commandos have been deployed to stop cyber crime and online fraud. Along with this, cyber awareness programs are also being run continuously by the police.
Direct message to the people of the state from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s wife
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath through his tweet on Monday appealed to the people of the state to be alert from cyber thugs. He spread this message to the masses through media and called upon people to become aware themselves as well as to make others aware. The Chief Minister clearly said that there is no provision for “digital arrest” in any law.
Awareness film on ‘Digital Arrest’ watched by millions
As per the intention of the Chief Minister, UP Police has released an awareness short film regarding ‘Digital Arrest’. This film has reached more than 17 lakh 30 thousand people on various social media platforms in the last four days. This short film alerts common citizens about new methods of cyber fraud and gives the message of taking right steps instead of fear.
Vigilance and awareness are the biggest weapons: Chief Minister Yogi
The Chief Minister wrote in his address that mobiles and computers have made life easier, but with it the challenges of cyber crime have also increased. The government is continuously taking steps to deal with them. He said that before the year 2017, there were only 2 cyber crime stations in the state, whereas today cyber crime stations and cyber help desks are active in all 75 districts.
Police never arrest on video call
The Chief Minister warned that cyber criminals use false words like “digital arrest” to scare people and extort money. He clearly said that the police or any government agency does not make arrests or ask for money through video calls, WhatsApp or social media.
Be careful while using social media
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that photos, videos and locations shared on social media can become weapons for cyber criminals. He appealed not to share personal information, bank details or OTP with anyone.
In case of cyber crime, immediately complain on 1930
The Chief Minister said that if cyber crime occurs despite precautions, then immediately inform on helpline number 1930. The sooner the complaint is made, the greater the chances of getting the money back. He especially emphasized on making senior citizens aware.
Call for safe and cyber crime free Uttar Pradesh
The Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state to remain alert themselves and also make the people around them aware. He said- “Come, let us all together build a safe and cyber crime free Uttar Pradesh.”
