Yogi government’s AI health revolution: UP number-1 in telemedicine, digital records and health-tech startups

UP is making extensive use of AI in health services. Thanks to e-Sanjeevani, ABHA ID, AI based training, health-tech startups and 12,000 digital health centres, treatment has become cheap, easy and accessible. UP has become the leading state of the country in AI health model.

Lucknow. According to the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) in health services is being rapidly promoted in Uttar Pradesh. This is making the health system more efficient, innovative and inclusive. With AI-based digital health facilities, treatment is becoming less expensive and accessible to common people. Services like telemedicine and e-Sanjeevani have increased the reach of health services in cities as well as in remote villages. Uttar Pradesh has become one of the leading states in the country in the use of AI technology in the National Health Authority (NHA) and Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) and is leading the AI revolution in the health sector.

E-Sanjeevani: UP is the leading state in the country in telemedicine services.

The AI-powered e-Sanjeevani platform is the biggest indicator of Uttar Pradesh’s health revolution. The state has stood first in the entire country in the operation of e-Sanjeevani. Crores of tele-consultations have been completed since its inception.

Through e-Sanjeevani, patients get AI-based virtual consultation, providing expert advice from the comfort of their homes. This is especially useful for those people in rural and remote areas, where there is a shortage of doctors and specialists. NHA’s 2025 report states that more than 70% of these consultations include rural patients, who are getting early diagnosis and medicine advice from AI.

AI and digital health sector training to 4,000+ health workers

As per the instructions of CM Yogi, emphasis is also being laid on skill development of employees working in health services. More than 4,000 health workers have been trained in AI and digital health skills under the National Rural Health Mission in the year 2024–2025.

This training includes topics such as data analytics, telemedicine protocols, and cyber security. According to AHM Uttar Pradesh, trained health workers have improved the accuracy of diagnosis by 30% by increasing the use of AI-based screening tools in rural centres. This training is also creating new employment opportunities for young health workers, especially in digital health start-ups.

Uttar Pradesh is the number-1 state in the country in Ayushman Bharat Health Account ID.

Uttar Pradesh has also performed well in Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). More than 12.45 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs have been created in the state. The ABDM 2024 report suggests that these IDs form the basis of real-time health recording, AI-based risk assessment and personalized health recommendations. The ABHA platform delivers patients’ medical history to doctors instantly with secure data management, making consultations more accurate and easier.

Health-tech investment proposal of Rs 500 crore in UP – big opportunity for startups

The state government is also emphasizing on promoting health-tech startups. Over 50 health-tech startups received investment offers of over Rs 500 crore at the Global Investors Summit 2023. According to Invest UP, these startups are developing new models of AI-based health check-up, screening and consultation services. Many startups are developing machine learning based apps for cancer screening and mental health monitoring.

Lucknow-based ‘HealthAI Solutions’ has launched an AI-driven pregnancy tracker, which has reached over 1 lakh users so far. This startup ecosystem is contributing to economic development as well as solving local health problems.

12,000+ health and wellness centers equipped with AI based telemedicine kiosks

Health infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh is also being linked with AI technology. More than 12,000 health and wellness centers have been technologically upgraded so far. These centers have been equipped with AI based telemedicine kiosks and digital diagnostic equipment. This is improving both the quality and accessibility of primary health services in rural areas.

Health system of Uttar Pradesh is changing due to AI revolution

Under the guidance of CM Yogi Adityanath, the use of AI in the health system of the state is being increased on a large scale. This change is proving to be especially beneficial for the poor, villagers and common people. AI based health model is giving a strong foundation to the dream of a healthy and strong Uttar Pradesh.
