What is the situation of fertilizer store in Uttar Pradesh?

According to the Agriculture Department, a total of 6.04 lakh metric tonnes of urea, 3.93 lakh metric tonnes of DAP and 3.02 lakh metric tonne NPK are present in the state. This means that during the Kharif season, there is a good stock of fertilizer for the farmers. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the farmers not to deposit unnecessary storage of fertilizer. They are deposited in the same amount as they need. He said that the state government is committed to the safety of the interests of farmers and is keeping an eye on the availability and distribution of fertilizer from time to time.

Farmers are getting the benefit of subsidy in this way

CM Yogi Adityanath government is taking steps in the interest of farmers. The real value of urea is Rs 2,174 per bag, but due to subsidy it is being made available to farmers for just Rs 266.50. Due to fertilizer, seeds and irrigation facilities in time, food production of the state has increased to 737 lakh metric tonnes. GSVA connected to the agricultural sector, which was Rs 2 lakh crore during SP rule, has now increased to Rs 7 lakh crore.

Constant action is being taken against those who make fertilizer black marketing

So far, 32.07 lakh metric tonnes of manure has been sold in Kharif 2024-25, which is 4.5 lakh metric tonnes more than the previous year. For the Rabi 2025-26 seasons, the government has set a target of farming in an area of ​​138.78 lakh hectares, which is 4 lakh hectares more than the previous year. The farmers will be provided 10 lakh quintals of subsidized seeds and about 12.80 lakh mini kits, while sugarcane farmers will be provided free seeds for sowing pulses. In the border districts, vigilance has been increased to prevent the smuggling of manure-yuria and strict action on black marketing, hoarding and smugglers is continuing.
