Lucknow. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has made a historic increase in the sugarcane price by Rs 30 per quintal for the crushing season 2025-26. This decision has come as a big relief for sugarcane farmers. On Thursday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath interacted with sugarcane farmers after this decision. Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister on this occasion, the farmers said that “Yogi ji has given us the opportunity to celebrate Diwali twice in a month.”
Transparency increased due to receipt of receipt on mobile – increase in income of farmers
Progressive farmer Santosh Vajpayee said, “Earlier the sugarcane used to dry up lying in the field and the slip was not available, but now the slip is available on mobile only.” He said that now farmers are doing co-cropping like potato-sugarcane, gram-sugarcane, mustard-sugarcane and cabbage-sugarcane, due to which their income has increased continuously. Santosh Vajpayee said that all this has been possible only under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi ji.
Slogan of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ becomes meaningful in BJP government
Mathura farmer Heera Singh said that the Yogi government has given a big gift to the farmers by increasing the sugarcane price. He said, “Even though the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ came from Congress, it has been given meaning by the BJP government.
He said that the credit card scheme for farmers was started when Rajnath Singh was the Chief Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given real support to the farmers by giving them Samman Nidhi.
Yogi government waived off the loans of farmers in the very first cabinet.
Progressive farmer Ramniwas Yadav said that the last two governments had not increased the sugarcane price by even one rupee in 10 years, while the Yogi government has increased it by more than 35% in 8 years. He said that “Chief Minister Yogi ji gave relief to the entire state by waiving off the loans of farmers in his first cabinet.”

Sugarcane farmer Sardar Gurdutt Singh said that in earlier governments, reduction in price was common, but now no one has the courage to make even a single sugarcane disappear. He said, “Under the leadership of Yogi ji, we have got the opportunity to celebrate Diwali twice in a month. This is a historic decision for the farmers.”
