Yogi government has brought a big change in the lives of the tribal society of Uttar Pradesh. Initiatives like Dharti Aaba Abhiyan, Tharu Handicrafts, Eklavya School and Janman Yojana have given a new direction to education, employment, housing and respect.
Lucknow. There has been a big change in the life of the tribal society in Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This is not just the expansion of schemes, but the story of restoration of respect, rights and equality. By connecting the long neglected tribal communities with the mainstream, the Yogi government has made their traditions, needs and dreams the priority of governance. The Chief Minister believes that real development is that which reaches the deprived and paves the way from Antyodaya to Sarvodaya.
Change in the lives of more than 11 lakh tribals
The government has improved the lives of more than 11 lakh people of tribes like Tharu, Buksha, Bhotiya, Jaunsari, Raji, Gond, Baiga, Sahariya, Musahar and Chero in the state through schemes. Residential rights were given under the Forest Rights Act, permanent houses were provided through the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana and facilities like education, health, drinking water, roads, electricity and communication reached their homes directly through the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana. Especially a new example was set by providing all the facilities to 815 families of Buxa tribe.
New energy in villages through Dharti Aaba campaign
‘Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan’ and ‘Dharti Aaba Public Participation Campaign’ have become the pivot of tribal development. Under these campaigns, saturation based development took place in 517 tribal dominated villages in 26 districts. Even in districts like Sonbhadra, Lalitpur, Kushinagar, Balrampur and Bijnor, there was significant improvement in education, health, employment and connectivity. Ayushman Card, Ujjwala, Jan Dhan, Kisan Samman Nidhi and Vishwakarma schemes have reached 100% in these villages.
From Tharu handicrafts to self-reliance
To give recognition to the art and traditions of Tharu society, Tharu Museum has been established in Emilia Kodar, Balrampur. The Tharu Handicraft Company formed in Lakhimpur Kheri has opened the way for access to the national market. Under this, revolving fund and community investment fund were given to 371 self-help groups, due to which tribal women are becoming self-reliant.
Education became the backbone of tribal upliftment
Yogi government has given priority to tribal education. Better education and facilities are being provided to children through Eklavya Model Residential School, Sarvodaya Hostel and Ashram System Schools. Eklavya schools of Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Sonbhadra and Lalitpur have given a new direction to the children of remote areas. Through education, these children are now rapidly moving forward in the mainstream of the society.
Opportunity for youth in administrative services
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the real test of development is “participation”. The complete filling of reserved seats in police recruitment is proof of this. Under the Pre-Examination Training Center Scheme, more than 700 candidates were selected and more than 6,500 youth received training. New possibilities have been created for the youth of Scheduled Tribe category through eight high level centers of the state.
Stability of liberated and nomadic communities
For the liberated and nomadic communities like Nat, Banjara, Sansi, Kanjar and Kalbelia, the government has brought stability through education and housing schemes. 101 Ashram Vidyalayas, 9 Sarvodaya Vidyalayas and many hostels are being run for these communities. They have been provided a respectable life by connecting them with social security, housing and employment.
