UP Budget 2026-27: Yogi government has made a provision of Rs 14,953 crore for social welfare in Budget 2026-27. Mass marriage grant has been made Rs 1.01 lakh. Pension, scholarship, backward class, disabled and minority welfare schemes have also been increased.

Yogi government has given special importance to social welfare in the budget 2026-27. A total provision of Rs 14,953 crore has been made, increasing by 8 percent compared to the year 2025-26. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that the aim of the government is to extend the benefits of the schemes to every section of the society.

Big provision for old age and farmer pension scheme

A provision of Rs 8,950 crore has been made in the budget for old age and farmers pension scheme. At present, about 67.50 lakh beneficiaries are being given a pension of Rs 1000 every month, which is providing financial support to the elderly and needy farmers.

Grant amount increased in Chief Minister’s mass marriage scheme

Under the Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme, the grant amount given for the marriage of daughters has been increased from Rs 51,000 to Rs 1.01 lakh. A provision of Rs 750 crore has been made for this scheme.

Other than this-

  • Rs 100 crore for the marriage of daughters of poor Scheduled Caste families.
  • A provision of Rs 50 crore has been made for the marriage of daughters of poor families of general category.

Priority given to deprived sections in scholarship schemes

A provision of Rs 977 crore has been made in the Purva Dasham and Post Dasham Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Caste students. A provision of Rs 950 crore has been made in this scheme for general category students. Under PM Ajay Yojana, Rs 13.09 crore has been given for the construction of hostels for Scheduled Caste students. Under the Chief Minister Shramjeevi Mahila Hostel Yojana, a provision of Rs 80 crore has been made for the construction of hostels in Ayodhya, Bareilly, Aligarh, Mirzapur, Saharanpur and Moradabad.

‘PM-Janman’ campaign for tribal development

Under the Prime Minister’s Tribal Justice Campaign ‘PM-Janman’, work is being done especially on the overall development of vulnerable tribal groups. More than 63,000 tribal dominated villages and aspirational districts across the country are targeted to benefit from the schemes of 18 departments.

Rs 3,402 crore for backward class welfare

A provision of Rs 3,402 crore has been made for backward class welfare schemes, which is 9 percent more than last year.

  • Rs 3,060.50 crore for pre-10th and post-10th scholarship scheme
  • Rs 210 crore for marriage grant scheme for daughters of poor families of other backward classes.
  • A provision of Rs 20 crore has been made for the hostel construction scheme.

Rs 2,140 crore for empowerment of disabled people

A provision of Rs 2,140 crore has been made for disabled welfare schemes, which is 8 percent more than last year. About 11 lakh disabled people are receiving pension of Rs 1000 every month. Before the year 2017, this amount was only Rs 300. A provision of Rs 1,470 crore has been made for this scheme. Under the new scheme, a provision of Rs 60 crore has been made to provide e-tricycles to disabled girl students. A provision of Rs 5 crore has been made for Childhood Day Care Center for hearing impaired, visually impaired and mentally challenged children in the age group of 3 to 7 years.

Rs 2,058 crore for minority welfare schemes

A provision of Rs 2,058 crore has been made for minority welfare. Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram, a provision of Rs 500 crore has been made for multi-sectoral development programs in 21 districts. A provision of Rs 391 crore has been made for Purva Dasham and Post Dasham Scholarship Scheme.
