In the 9 years of Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh, large scale employment opportunities were created for the youth through MSME, investment and self-employment schemes. The state’s economy was strengthened by investment proposals of Rs 50 lakh crore and employment to lakhs of youth.

Lucknow. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government has opened new avenues of entrepreneurship and employment for the youth in the last 9 years. The government took forward schemes like ‘CM Yuva’ and strengthened the MSME sector. The result is that today this sector is not only providing employment to the youth, but has also become the backbone of the state’s economy.

Millions of employment opportunities in UP due to investment policy

The industry-supported policies of the Yogi government have seen a big impact. In the last 9 years, investment proposals worth about Rs 50 lakh crore have come in Uttar Pradesh. These are likely to provide employment and employment opportunities to more than 1 crore 10 lakh youth.

Of these, investment proposals worth about Rs 15 lakh crore have come on the ground, creating about 60 lakh employment opportunities. Due to large-scale investment, industrial activities have increased rapidly in the state, which has directly benefited the youth in the form of employment. Besides, employment opportunities have also increased at the local level.

MSME sector becomes the biggest source of employment

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector has emerged as a strong base of employment in Uttar Pradesh. At present there are more than 96 lakh MSME units in the state, which is the highest in the country. More than 3 crore 11 lakh people have got employment through this sector. The government has taken several steps to promote MSMEs such as providing financial assistance, training and markets.

Small industries get new identity through ODOP scheme

Small industries have got a new identity by linking the ‘One District-One Product (ODOP)’ scheme with MSMEs. This promoted local products and increased employment opportunities in rural and semi-urban areas. This initiative has not only benefited small entrepreneurs but has also strengthened the local economy of the state.

Youth got new path through self-employment schemes

Along with jobs, youth are also being motivated for self-employment. Under the Chief Minister Youth Self-Employment Scheme, so far more than 38 thousand youth have benefited and margin money of more than Rs 1097.10 crore has been given. Similarly, under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme, assistance of Rs 1105.49 crore was given to 32,936 beneficiaries, which provided employment to more than 2 lakh 63 thousand people.

Artisans got support from Vishwakarma scheme

More than 4 lakh 20 thousand artisans and traditional workers have benefited under Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana. This scheme has helped them to advance their skills and establish self-employment.
