UP Cabinet Key Decisions: The UP Cabinet approved fistoring scholarship of ₹ 23 lakh to 5 students for studying in UK, industrial and leather policy, rural population records bill and 2 new private universities.

Yogi adityanath cabinet decision: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has taken many important decisions in the cabinet meeting. With many major decisions in higher education, Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee-Chivaning Uttar Pradesh State Government Scholarship Scheme has been approved. This scheme will provide the meritorious students of the state to get higher education in the United Kingdom (UK).

Opportunities for 5 talented students every year

State Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay gave information about the decision of the cabinet. He informed that under this initiative of the government, every year 5 talented students of Uttar Pradesh will be given scholarship for one year master’s degree from a reputed university in UK. This scheme is being started taking inspiration from the extraordinary achievements of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The scholarship will be run in joint collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom.

UP’s scholarship scheme will continue for three years

Higher Education Minister said that the scholarship will include educational education fees, examination and research fee, adequate monthly allowance for living and aircraft fare for the movement once in economy class. The selection process will be concluded in a fair and transparent manner according to the agreement between the state government and the FCDO. The scheme will be applicable from the academic year 2025-26 and will be effective for three years (2025-26, 2026-27, 2027-28). Further decision will be taken on its renewal. Re-approval will be required by 30 March 2028 to continue the plan in 2028-29.

How much UP government will spend on Atal scholarship

The UP government will bear the expenditure of about £ 19,800 (about ₹ 23 lakh) for every student under this scheme. The total estimated expenditure will be between £ 38,048 to £ 42,076, with the remaining amount will be managed by FCDO UK. According to Yogendra Upadhyay, the scheme will open the doors of global education for the students of Uttar Pradesh and give them an opportunity to compete on the international stage. This is another evidence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s commitment to improve the field of youth empowerment and education.

Industrial location and leather footwear policy approved

The Yogi Cabinet has approved two important policies with the aim of accelerating the industrial development of the state. MSME and Export Promotion Minister Rakesh Sachan said that both policies will not only strengthen the industrial infrastructure but will also create new employment opportunities for millions of youth. Under the Uttar Pradesh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Industrial Asthan Management Policy, now the allocation of industrial plots/shades will be done with e-auction on the basis of lease/rent. The rate of plots has been fixed area -wise, with ₹ 3000 in Paschimanchal, ₹ 2500 in Madhyanchal and ₹ 2000 per sqm in Purvanchal/Bundelkhand. With this, the price will increase at the rate of 5% every year. On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh Footwear, Leather and Non-Leader Area Development Policy-2025 have also been approved. Through this policy, special incentives will be provided for increase in exports, technological upgrades, and employment generation. Special training programs for skilled workers will also be run. This policy will help in attracting domestic and foreign investment.

The process of nomination and amendment in rural areas will now be easy

The cabinet has approved the Uttar Pradesh Rural Population Records Bill-2025 to make the process of updating rural population documents simple and transparent. The Bill will make the process of nomination, amendment and updates easier in homes (proprietary documents) prepared under the ownership scheme. This will now make it easier to change the name on the basis of heritage, sale, gift, will, auction, court order or family agreement. Revenue Inspector and Tehsildar/Naib Tehsildar will get the right to update the house in clean cases. Application can also be made for improvement in clerical error or mobile number-address. So far, more than 1.06 crore houses have been prepared in the state, out of which more than 1.01 crore have been distributed.

Approval of establishment of two new private universities

Yogi Cabinet has given two new private universities K.D. Proposals for the establishment of the University (Mathura) and Bodhisattva University (Barabanki) have been approved. These universities are being established under the Uttar Pradesh Private University Act, 2019. K.D. For the establishment of the university, the Rajiv Memorial Academic Welfare Society has proposed on 50.54 acres of land in Akbarpur village of Umbrella Tehsil of Mathura. Similarly, for the establishment of Bodhisattva University, 25.31 acres of land has been identified by Bodhisattva Charitable Trust Lucknow at village Gadia, Tehsil Nawabganj of Barabanki.
