The central government has approved 4 major railway projects. The 894 km railway network will expand in Maharashtra, MP, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh at a cost of ₹ 24,634 crore. This will reduce the crowd and improve passenger and freight.

New Delhi: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Tuesday announced the approval of 4 major railway projects, which will cover 18 districts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh. This will expand the current Indian Railway Network to about 894 km. The Union Minister said- To strengthen these important corridors, work is going on on many more projects, which will improve both the passengers and freight across the country.

Modi cabinet approves 4 big project

Vaishnav said- Today 4 major projects of Railways have been approved. We have 7 corridors who handle 41 percent railway traffic. These 7 corridors carry 41 percent goods and 41 percent passengers. Many new projects are coming to strengthen these corridors. Wardha-Bhusaval is a 2-line section, today the third and fourth lines have been launched. This corridor connects 6 states of the country. It is a 314 km long project with an estimated investment of Rs 9,197 crore. 4 important bridges, 72 large bridges and 537 small bridges will be built in this project. Many bridges and tunnels will be built in this project. The second project is Gondia-Dongargarh, already 3 lines. Today the fourth line has been approved. It will connect Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. It is an 84 km long project with an estimated investment of Rs 2,223 crore. Many bridges and tunnels will be built in this project. This project will save about 23 million kg of carbon dioxide every year.

Modi government will spend 24,634 crore on these 4 projects of railway

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday approved four major multi-tracking projects of the Ministry of Railways, which is estimated to be Rs 24,634 crore. In these projects, Wardha – Bhusaval – third and fourth lines – 314 km (km) (Maharashtra); Gondia – Dongargarh – Fourth Line – 84 km (Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh), Vadodara – Ratlam – Third and Fourth Lines – 259 km (Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh); And Itarsi – Bhopal – Bina Fourth Line – 237 km (Madhya Pradesh). About 3,633 villages will get better connectivity from the approved multi-tracking project, which have a population of about 85.84 lakhs, and two aspiring districts (Vidisha and Rajnandgaon) will also benefit.

CO2 emissions will be reduced equivalent to planting 6 crore trees

The plan of these projects has been made according to the PM-Mati Shakti National Master Plan. This project section also gives rail connectivity to major sites like Sanchi, Satpura Tiger Reserve, Rock Shelter of Bhimbetka, Hazara Falls and Navegaon National Park, which attract tourists across the country. It is an essential route to transport items like coal, container, cement, fly ash, food grains, steel etc. Additional freight of 78 MTPA (million tonnes per year) will be done by the work of increasing capacity. Railways, being an environment-friendly and energy-efficient means of transport, will help both gain climate goals for the country and reduce logistics costs. This will reduce oil imports (28 million liters) and decrease CO2 emission (139 million kg), which is equivalent to planting 6 crore trees.
