Star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is away from cricket action these days. This is because he is not a part of the ongoing T20 series between India and New Zealand, nor has he been selected for the T20 World Cup. But meanwhile, he has not been able to participate in Ranji Trophy and the reason for this seems to be his fitness problem. According to reports, Jaiswal is still not fully fit and has been advised to undergo a medical examination, due to which he will not be able to play in the next Ranji Trophy match of Mumbai.
What did the doctor say to Jaiswal?
Jaiswal did not find a place in the squad selected for Mumbai’s last league match in Ranji Trophy. The selection committee of Mumbai Cricket Association did not select the left-handed star opener for this match against Delhi. While questions are being raised on Jaiswal himself regarding this, it has now been revealed in a report that Jaiswal has not yet fully recovered from the disease he was affected by recently.
According to the report, the Indian opener had recently met a doctor, after which he has been advised for further investigation. Although his condition is improving, he has been asked to continue his medication for the next 2 weeks. Also, he has been advised to start light training gradually. It is believed that he will be available for the quarter-final match of Mumbai starting from 6th February.
His health deteriorated during the match
Jaiswal suffered from gastroenteritis during a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match in December 2025, due to which he had to leave the field midway. He was also admitted to the hospital for a few days for its treatment. However, after recovering from this, he was a part of Team India’s squad in the India-New Zealand ODI series but he did not get a chance to play. But recently this problem had once again arisen in his stomach, after which he sought medical advice.
