Yashasvi Jaiswal Creates History, Becomes First Player In The World To Achieve MIND-BOGGLING Record

Yashasvi Jaiswal was a thorn in the flesh for England when the teams last clashed in the Test series in India. Jaiswal scored over 700 runs in the series and played a huge role in India’s win.

Jaiswal has been in decent touch coming into England and will be one of the key players for India in the series.

The left-hander looked comfortable in his first Test in England and added a 91 partnership with KL Rahul for the first wicket. At the time of writing, Jaiswal was playing at 42 and looking set for yet another big knock against England. KL Rahul, however, failed to convert the start into a big score and fell for 42 to Brydon Carse.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Scripts History

The first Test at Leeds, Headingley, is Jaiswal’s 20th Test. Interestingly, he has played all of his 20 Tests at different venues, which is an extremely rare record. Jaiswal made his debut in the West Indies and played in Roseau and Port of Spain. He played his next two tests at Centurion and Cape Town in South Africa. His next 10 Tests were in India – five against England, two against Bangladesh, and three against New Zealand – on 10 different venues. He also played five Tests in Australia at Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, before the Leeds Test.

Jaiswal Nearing Don Bradman Feat

Meanwhile, Jaiswal is nearing the 800-run mark against England in Test cricket. The record for the fastest batter to reach 1000 runs vs England is held by Don Bradman, who reached the feat in 13 innings. This is Jaiswal’s 10th innings. If he can achieve the feat before his 13th innings, he will break Bradman’s record and etch his name in the record books.
