Yashasvi Jaiswal Creates History; Becomes First Player In The World After Don Bradman 93 Years Ago To…

Yashasvi Jaiswal continued to write his name in the history books by achieving a feat that has only been done by Don Bradman in Test cricket’s 148-year-old history during the first Test day of play in the second Test between India and West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Jaiswal made up for failing to convert a start in the first Test after Shubman Gill won the toss and India chose to bat. The hosts finished the day with an imposing score of 318-2. Jaiswal was the star of the show with a splendid knock as he went into stumps unbeaten at 173.

This was Jaiswal’s seventh Test ton of his career, out of which five have been scores of 150+. Infact, each of his first four centuries were scores above the 150-run mark, making him only the second player after Graeme Smith to achieve the rare feat. Only the two tons Jaiswal scored in England this year were scores below 150.

The Indian cricket star etched a 21st-century world record as he is the first player since the turn of the millennium to score five knocks of 150+ at the age of 23 or below. Infact, only Don Bradman has more such knocks at the same age, a feat he achieved 93 years ago in 1932 after making his Test debut in 1928. Jaiswal broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record as far as Indian players are concerned.
