Kannada star Yash is reportedly being considered for an adventure film with Tamil filmmaker P. S. Mithran. The director is set to revive a project that he once described as his dream venture.
Reports suggest that the Irumbu Thirai director and the K.G.F star, Yash, are collaborating on a project inspired by the spirit of Indiana Jones. It is set to bring the Kannada star into a genre that offers more than fistfights, larger-than-life villains and conventional action spectacle.
Mithran revealed in September 2026, while talking to Mid-Day, that he had narrated an ambitious adventure story to Yash. The filmmaker also admitted that the collaboration did not progress because of scheduling issues.
However, neither Yash nor Mithran has officially confirmed that the movie is back on track again.
What Did P. S. Mithran Say About The Film?
In an interaction with Cinema Express, Mithran spoke about the project while discussing several films he had previously developed or discussed with leading actors.
“The story I narrated to Yash sir is my most ambitious project. It’s an adventure story like Indiana Jones, with a strong emotional core. It’ll be superb if it happens. It’s my dream project,” the filmmaker said.
Is The Film Really Like Indiana Jones?
The comparison comes directly from Mithran. His ‘story like Indiana Jones’ has triggered speculation among the fans. However, the precise meaning is not yet clear.
The director has not disclosed the story, plot, setting, or any characters that would establish the connection with a Hollywood franchise.
The Indiana Jones films, beginning with Raiders of the Lost Ark, combine archaeological mysteries, dangerous expeditions, physical action and a central character whose intelligence and resourcefulness are as important as his fighting ability.
For Yash, the genre could offer a change from the intense, action-driven screen persona associated with KGF: Chapter 1 and KGF: Chapter 2. An adventure narrative could place greater emphasis on exploration, problem-solving and character relationships, provided the eventual screenplay supports those elements.
What Would Make the Yash-Mithran collaboration A Success?
Mithran’s previous films offer some context for the proposed pairing. His Tamil thriller Irumbu Thirai (2018) explored cybercrime and digital surveillance, while Sardar (2022), starring Karthi, built an espionage story around a commercial action framework.
An adventure film would require a different approach, particularly in its world-building, locations, action design and treatment of mystery. The director would also need to give Yash a character whose appeal extends beyond physical dominance.
Mithran has confirmed the ambition behind his adventure story, but the revival of the Yash collaboration remains unverified. Would you rather see Yash in a globe-trotting adventure or in the larger-than-life action that made KGF a phenomenon?
