YCF, a philanthropist unit of Yash Raj Films, launched the scholarship program on Yash Chopra’s birth anniversary. 5 students were selected in 2025. This scheme gives the children of the film industry workers up to ₹ 5 lakh for higher education in media and entertainment.

Yash Chopra Foundation (YCF), the philanthropic unit of Yash Raj Films, is carrying forward the thinking and vision of great filmmaker Yash Chopra. This foundation has been continuously doing the work of returning the love and support given by the Hindi film industry to YRF for the last five decades.

New initiative on Yash Chopra’s birth anniversary

YCF has launched a special scholarship program on Yash Chopra’s 92nd birth anniversary. Under this, children of daily salaried laborers (such as Lightman, Spot Boy, Technician, Editor etc.) working in the Hindi film industry will be given scholarship for higher education in the media and entertainment.

Scholarship amount and course

Under this program, every student can get financial assistance of up to ₹ 5 lakh. This assistance is available for graduation and postgraduate level studies. Major courses include:

  • Mass communication
  • Film making
  • Production and direction
  • Visual arts
  • Cinematography
  • Animation

After the stringent selection process this year 5 students have been selected for YCF Scholarship:

  • Vipul Kumar Prajapati: B.A. These films, Television and New Media Production, Atharva College, Mumbai
  • Preeti Yadav: B.A. In these multimedia and mass communication (BAMMC), MVLU College, Mumbai
  • Bhumika Gupta: B.A. In these multimedia and mass communication (BAMMC), St. Pauls College for Woman
  • Aditya Arjun Yadav: B.Sc. Inmination and VFX, Thakur College of Science and Commerce, Mumbai
  • Raghujit Gupta: MA In Mass Communication (Film, Television and New Media), Devi Prasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies

Honor to unheard heroes of the film industry

Through this initiative, YCF gives respect to unheard heroes and their families of the film industry who have taken cinema to new heights by working behind the screen. Now their children’s academic dreams and career are getting strong support.

This scholarship gives the opportunity to make a career in media and cinema by giving them financial assistance and mentoring. We hope that more youth of the film fraternity will move towards their dreams.”

Application will be opened again in 2026

The next phase of YCF scholarship will resume in early 2026. Interested and eligible students can apply and can take their first step towards shaping the future of Indian media and entertainment world.
