Delhi-NCR Rain: Flood crisis has increased due to heavy rains in Delhi-NCR and release of water from Hathni Kund barrage. The old iron bridge will be closed from Tuesday evening due to the rise in the water level in the Yamuna river. The administration has advised the citizens to take precautions while leaving the house. On Monday, many areas of Delhi-NCR received heavy rains, causing a lot of problems to the common people. Due to the malfunction in the metro service, people were stuck at the station for hours, while the roads were also jammed, due to which people faced a lot of trouble.
The water level of the river is constantly being monitored
Officials said that the water level of the Yamuna river is constantly being monitored and the administration is fully cautious to deal with any unpleasant situation. Appeal has also been made to citizens not to leave out and follow government guidelines if not necessary.
Roads turned into a pond due to rain
Roads in Gurugram have been converted into ponds due to Monday’s rain. There was a 18 km long traffic jam on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. The district administration has issued advisory in view of heavy rains. DC and District Disaster Management Authority Chairman Ajay Kumar has urged all corporates and private offices of Gurugram to provide work from home to employees. Apart from this, all schools have been instructed to run online classes on September 2.

Order to close the bridge from 5 pm on Tuesday evening
The water level of Yamuna river was recorded 205.75 meters till 7 am on Tuesday morning. According to the administration, when the water level is more than 206 meters, then vehicles will be stopped on the old iron bridge. District Disaster Management Authority, Shahdara has also issued an order to close the bridge from 5 pm on Tuesday evening.

Officials reviewed the water level and the situation
Authorities went to the boat near Yamuna Loha Bridge and took stock of the water level and situation of the river. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that complete preparations have been made to deal with any emergency. The security of citizens is the first, and the situation is being reported every hour. He also said that if there is any problem from the flood, then immediate action will be taken.
