Xiaomi has launched a new tablet Xiaomi Pad 8. It is equipped with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip, 11-inch 3.2K display, and 9,200mAh battery. This tablet running HyperOS 3 also supports stylus. Its starting price is ₹ 33,999.
New Delhi: Xiaomi is known for making products that deliver flagship-like performance, but are not priced as much as flagships. The company follows the same path in the case of Android tablets also. Now Xiaomi has further expanded its tablet lineup and launched its new tablet Xiaomi Pad 8. It has many improvements like Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, Xiaomi HyperOS 3, 11-inch high-resolution display and better memory-storage. It also supports accessories like keyboard and stylus. This new Xiaomi Pad is aimed at users who want a portable device for work, study and daily entertainment under Rs 50,000.
Xiaomi Pad 8: Features, processor and other specifications
Xiaomi Pad 8 features an 11-inch 3.2K display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a maximum brightness of 800 nits. The screen supports Dolby Vision and the tablet can play videos with Dolby Atmos audio. Like the Xiaomi Pad 7, the new Pad 8 also has two display options: a normal glossy screen and a nano-textured variant, which is designed to reduce glare and reflections.
Xiaomi Pad 8 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 mobile platform, with which UFS 4.1 storage and LPDDR5T RAM is provided. According to Xiaomi, this chip improves CPU performance by about 32% and GPU performance by more than 50% compared to previous generations. The tablet runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3, which gets a new user interface with new system animations, lock screen and widgets.
Xiaomi Pad 8 packs a 9,200mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging. The special thing is that a 67W charger is available with it in the box itself. Xiaomi says that the tablet will get security updates for six years and Android OS updates for four years, which will make it usable for a long time.
For those who like to write or sketch by hand, this tablet supports Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro. This pen offers more than 16,000 pressure levels and latency of less than 1 millisecond. Additionally, it also supports rotation detection for stylus annotation and drawing.
Xiaomi Pad 8: Price, storage and availability
The price of 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of the new Xiaomi Pad 8 has been kept at Rs 33,999. Whereas, the price of 12GB + 256GB model is Rs 36,999, while the price of 12GB + 256GB Nano Texture version is Rs 38,999.
Xiaomi is also selling a Creators Edition, which comes with the Focus Pen Pro. The price of its normal display variant is Rs 41,999 and the price of Nano Texture Edition is Rs 43,999.
As part of Xiaomi’s launch offer, there is an instant discount of Rs 3,000 available on several bank cards, taking its effective starting price to Rs 30,999. The sale of the tablet will begin on March 17 at 12 noon on Amazon, Xiaomi’s own website and retail partners.
