Xiaomi 18 Pro Max camera and battery details tipped: Will it launch in India?

Xiaomi is reportedly working on Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max devices, which are also the companies’ next generation of premium smartphones.

The smartphones will be successors to the current Xiaomi 17 lineup. While the smartphones are already creating a fair amount of buzz in the smartphone market, recent leaks around the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max have put it in the spotlight. Traditionally, Xiaomi’s Pro Max models have been exclusive to the Chinese market. However, Vivo and Oppo have already broken that trend by introducing their ultra-premium flagship models globally. Hence, it’s expected that Xiaomi could also think of bringing the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max to international markets, including India. Here’s everything we have on the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max for now.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max: Specs (Expected)

Tipster Digital Chat Station recently posted on the social media platform Weibo and stated that the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could feature a 6.9-inch 2K OLED panel. Apart from this, the tipster has further suggested that it might come with a flat display design along with large rounded corners and thin bezels on all sides. Along with the main screen, the device may also feature an AI-powered secondary rear screen up to 4 inches.

Under the hood, the smartphone is anticipated to draw its power from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, which is said to be built on 2 nm technology. The device is also expected to feature up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM along with UFS 4.1 internal storage options that go up to 1TB.

Leaks also point to the handset possibly coming packed with an 8,500mAh silicon-carbon battery that would be supported by 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is said to run on an Android 17-based skin.

The body of the device is rumoured to be a titanium alloy frame which is paired with a durable IP69 dust and water-resistance rating. In terms of optics, it may sport a 200MP primary camera with LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) and a second 200MP telephoto camera with macro photography support, which is expected to offer around 3x optical zoom. Moreover, Leica camera tuning is likely to continue through Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max: Launch timeline (Expected)

According to recent reports, the smartphone is expected to launch in the Chinese market in the fourth quarter (Q4) of this year. However, at the time of writing there has been no official announcement about the smartphone’s entry into the Indian market.

In the past, the company has restricted the Pro Max version to the Chinese market only. However, there have been instances where other sister companies of Xiaomi have broken this rule and introduced their Ultra versions into the international market, including India.

If the company wants to launch the device in India, then the most probable time would be the second half of Q1 2028.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max: India price (Expected)

The consumers could expect that the smartphone, if launched, will come with the premium price tag. The early reports suggest that it could be priced around Rs 150,999. However, these are just speculations and can change at the time of launch.
