Himachal Flood Update: Life of destruction due to heavy rains and cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh, landslides and roads closed, life affected, deaths and losses in many districts, the administration issued alert and intensified relief work.
The rains continue to wreak havoc in Himachal Pradesh. There was heavy havoc in Thach village over Nigulsari in Kinnaur district at 12:10 pm due to cloudburst. Fertile fields and gardens were ruined due to flood -like conditions. Many villagers saved their lives by running towards the forests. The road connectivity of Kinnaur has been completely cut due to flood debris NH-5. Two vehicles were swept away in this disaster and many houses were damaged.
Cloudburst in Nigulsari causes heavy damage to fields, gardens and houses
Fertile land and garden were destroyed due to floods in three drains in rural areas. Two vehicles were also washed away in the grip of floods, while a house in Mastan village was damaged. Three houses are under threat and villagers are in panic.

Landslide in Shimla’s iceland, school has to be closed
The incessant rains caused heavy landslides at midnight at Circular Road in Himland area of the capital Shimla. A landslide near St. Edward School threatened a building, which was evacuated by the administration. The precautionary school will remain closed on September 19 and 20 and classes will be online. Due to the closure of the road, people reached their workplaces on foot in the morning.

Three national highways and 555 roads completely closed in Himachal
Due to landslides in the state, 555 roads including three national highways have come to a standstill till Friday morning. Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Kangra, Sirmaur and Chamba districts are the most affected. Along with this, 162 power transformers and 197 water supply schemes have also been affected.
424 people died and loss of property worth crores in monsoon season
From 20 June to 18 September, 424 people have died in Himachal, while 481 people are injured and 45 people are missing. So far, property worth more than 4749 crore has been damaged. More than 1600 houses have collapsed completely, thousands of houses have been partially damaged and more than 2400 cattle have died.
Rainfall continues till 25 September, relief will be available in between
According to Meteorological Center Shimla, the process of rain will continue till September 25. However, the weather is likely to be clear in the entire state on 22 and 23 September. Last night, heavy rainfall was recorded at many places including Nayana Devi, Nahan, Bhatiat and Dharamshala.
