New Delhi. During the time of Covid, most people were given work from home. After Covid, companies gradually ended work from home. Now only a few companies are offering the option of work from home. Meanwhile, from tomorrow (23 November) private and government employees have been instructed to work from home. Yes, after a strong warning from the Supreme Court, the Delhi government has directed every company and office to provide work from home to at least 50 percent of its employees. The main reason for this is the air pollution of Delhi.
Delhi government implemented GRAP 4
Delhi government has imposed GRAP 4 restrictions in the National Capital Region. Air pollution in Delhi is increasing every day. Not only humans, but animals including dogs and birds are also facing health problems. Many people are being admitted to hospital due to difficulty in breathing. Due to this, the Supreme Court held a hearing yesterday (21 November) on Delhi pollution and the steps to be taken immediately. During this, the court directed to take major decisions to reduce pollution in Delhi. Also reprimanded the government. After this, the Delhi government has imposed many restrictions, including GRAP 4. When the air quality index (AQI) is above 450, GRAP 4 is implemented.
Possibility of work from home for central government employees also
Central government employees working in Delhi are also likely to get the opportunity to work from home. Through this, the government aims to reduce traffic and pollution. According to the Central Pollution Board, the air quality of Delhi is very poor and there is a need to find a permanent solution to it.
More stringent rules implemented in Delhi
Due to poor air quality in Delhi, more stringent rules will be implemented. Recently many construction works including building construction were banned. But this decision was withdrawn after the intervention of the Central Government.
