‘Won’t Be Intimidated, Prepared For Long Battle’: CJP’s Abhijeet Dipke Vows To Continue Fight After Bail

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Sunday said that his party would not be intimidated by what he called illegal arrests and detentions.

Dipke’s remarks came a day after he was granted conditional bail by a Delhi court following his preventive detention ahead of the party’s proposed ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ rally at Connaught Place.

What’s Next For CJP?

Dipke stated that the party plans to regroup, restrategise, and map out its next moves after fellow activists Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka are released. Both leaders were remanded to five days of judicial custody on October 14, with Dipke expressing hope for their release on Sunday.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Dipke said, “Once Saurav and Ashu come, we will gather, restrategize, and determine how to move forward.”

“Given what we have witnessed over the past few days, including the illegal arrests and detentions, it is clear that there is an attempt to intimidate us. However, we will neither be intimidated nor back down,” he added.

“This is a long battle, and we are fully prepared for it. Hopefully, both of them will be released today,” he said.

Why Was Abhijeet Dipke Detained?

The CJP founder was detained on Friday, October 16, just as he stepped out of his residence in Delhi’s Jhandewalan area to head toward Connaught Place for the planned protest. Before his detention, Delhi Police had served him two notices, including one prohibiting a demonstration, procession, or rally in the vicinity of Connaught Place.

Dipke was granted conditional bail on Saturday and subsequently released from the Mandir Marg Police Station after agreeing to sign a peace bond.

“Based on the assurance given in the peace bond, he was let off. We are awaiting the written order for further details,” a senior police officer told PTI.

CJP Legal Team Criticises Delays In Court Hearing

Meanwhile, Ratna Singh, Legal Affairs Head for CJP, raised concerns over delays in court proceedings, noting that party members were kept waiting at the Mandir Marg Police Station for the Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) to preside.

“At Mandir Marg police station since 11 AM, waiting for the SEM to preside,” Singh said, pointing out that the hearing was scheduled for 12 PM.

“Unfurling the Indian National Flag is not a crime, and the boys should not remain in custody due to procedural delays,” she added.
