Women’s World Cup 2025: Big news has come out before the Women’s World Cup 2025 regarding the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Justice John Michael Kunha Commission in its investigation report declared the stadium ‘Unsafe’ and ‘Unfit’.
Bangalore opened the truth from stampede report
Justice John Michael Kunha Commission is the same commission that the Karnataka government appointed to investigate a stampede during the RCB IPL 2025 Victory Celebration in which 11 people were killed and more than 50 injured. The report states that M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is not ready to organize a large -scale event. There is a huge shortage of basic security arrangements like crowd safety, emergency preparations.
The Chinnaswamy Stadium is one of the four venue of India selected for the Women’s World Cup where India VS is to have a semi -final and finals in addition to the opening match between S Sri Lanka. After receiving the opposite report related to this stadium, the BCCI can now consider changing the venue.
Major recommendations of commission
According to the report, the following shortcomings were found in the stadium …
- Purpose-built Queuing and lack of circulation areas
- Number of entry/exit gates insufficient
- Lack of public transport integration
- Lack of Emergency Evacuvement Plan of Global Norms
- Lack of parking space, shortage of drop-off facilities
- The commission recommended that large programs are in venue that complete international standards and can handle the large crowd safely.
KSCA and event management
The commission has recommended KSCA chief Raghuram Bhatt, former Secretary A Shankar, former Treasurer ES Jairam, RCB Vice-President Rajesh Menon, DNA Entertainment MD T Venkat Vardhan and Vice-President Sunil Mathur. In fact, after the stampede, Shankar and Jairam resigned by taking moral responsibility.
