On the morning of Thursday, October 23, two Australian female players were molested by a bike rider. The police took immediate action in this case and arrested the accused. The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has broken its silence in this matter. The board has called this incident shameful for the country.

Such incidents should not happen. The police has caught the accused.” Board Secretary Devjit Saikia said, “This is a very unfortunate incident. Such an incident brings disrepute. We appreciate the prompt action of the police, due to which the accused has been arrested. The law should take its course to punish the culprits.”

What is the whole matter?

This incident happened when both the Australian players were walking from Hotel Radisson Blu towards the cafe located on Khajrana Road. Meanwhile, a young man wearing a white shirt and black cap started chasing them on a bike. As soon as he got the opportunity, the young man did obscene acts with a player and ran away from there. Both the players got scared by this. He immediately sent the location and emergency message to his team’s security officer Danny Simmons.

Female players started crying after the incident

Simmons told that while I was reading his message, a call came from a player. She was crying on the phone and said that someone teased us. I immediately sent the car and called both of them back to the hotel. Simmons informed the police officers about this. On the complaint of Danny Simmons, MIG police station registered a case.

After this, teams from Vijay Nagar, MIG, Khajrana, Pardeshipura and Kanadia police stations were deployed in the investigation. After scanning the CCTV footage, the accused was identified as Akil Khan, resident of Khajrana. Akil was arrested from Azad Nagar on 24 October.

In this matter, Additional DCP (Crime Branch) Rajesh Dandotiya said that Australian team A case was registered on the complaint of the security officer. The police arrested the accused Akil within 6 hours. Now it is being investigated where there was a mistake in the security protocol.
