New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced the complete schedule of the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. The tournament is set to be played in England and Wales from June 12 to July 05. India will begin their campaign with a high-profile clash against Pakistan on June 14.
A total of 12 teams will take part in the competition, with as many as four European nations qualifying for the tournament for the first time. Hosts England will be joined by European nations Ireland, debutant Netherlands and Scotland, accounting for a third of the tournament’s field, a historic first in the Women’s T20 World Cup.
The 12 teams have been divided into two groups of six each. The six teams will play each other once in the group stage, with the top two teams from each group making it to the semifinals. India are in Group 1 alongside Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Netherlands.
Group 2 consists of West Indies, England, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland and New Zealand. Hosts England will take on Sri Lanka in the opening game of the tournament at Edgbaston on June 12. A total of 33 matches in the tournament will be played across seven venues – Edgbaston, Old Trafford, Headingley, Hampshire Bowl, Bristol County Ground, The Oval and Lord’s Cricket Ground.
ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 groups:
Group 1 – India, Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Netherlands
Group 2 – West Indies, England, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland, New Zealand
The two semifinals will be played on June 30 and July 02, followed by the final at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on July 05. India will take on debutant Netherlands in their second group match after their opener against Pakistan on June 14. The Women in Blue will then take on South Africa, Bangladesh and Australia in their next three group games.
