On the occasion of International Women’s Day, women entrepreneurship is increasing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh. More than 9600 women-run startups are active in the state. Women are getting financial assistance and encouragement from Yogi government’s Startup Policy, Nidhi Yojana and UP Startup Fund.

Lucknow. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the growing strength of women entrepreneurship is clearly visible in Uttar Pradesh. Women’s participation is continuously increasing in the rapidly developing startup ecosystem in the state. At present, more than 9,600 women-run startups are active in Uttar Pradesh and their number is growing at the rate of about 30 percent.

Women are making a strong mark with new ideas and innovation in many sectors like technology, agritech, healthcare and service sector. The increasing number of women-run startups is an indication that positive changes are taking place in the economic and social structure of the state. With the increasing participation of women, a new model of entrepreneurship is emerging, which is promoting self-reliance, innovation and inclusive growth.

Women entrepreneurship is getting a boost from the policies of Yogi government

The policies and schemes of the government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are believed to play an important role in the development of women entrepreneurship in Uttar Pradesh. The startup policy and schemes to encourage innovation implemented by the state government have inspired women to move towards entrepreneurship.

Through these initiatives, many facilities like training, mentorship, incubation and financial assistance are being provided to women. With the help of these facilities, women are able to develop their business ideas into successful startups. Due to this, women entrepreneurship is getting new momentum in the state.

Women startups are getting support from ‘Nidhi’ program

The ‘Nidhi’ (National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations) program launched by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India is also playing an important role in encouraging women startups. Under this scheme, financial assistance has been provided to 25 women startups of Uttar Pradesh. Through this collaboration, many women entrepreneurs have got the opportunity to further their innovation and expand their businesses. According to startup expert Ajay Chaturvedi, financial assistance provided in the initial stage of a startup is very important. This provides a strong foundation to new enterprises and helps make them sustainable in the long run.

Women entrepreneurs are getting financial strength from UP Startup Fund

UP Startup Fund has also emerged as an important support in providing financial assistance to women entrepreneurs. Out of the Rs 1000 crore UP Startup Fund created by the Yogi government, around Rs 325 crore has been distributed so far. More than 900 women startups have benefited from this financial assistance. This collaboration gives women the ability to expand their businesses, adopt new technology and compete in the market.

Women from small towns are also ahead in startup culture.

Startup culture in Uttar Pradesh is no longer limited to big cities only. Now women from small cities and towns are also rapidly registering their participation in the startup sector. Many women entrepreneurs are developing technology-based solutions, agritech platforms and new models in the service sector. Due to this, new employment opportunities are being created at the local level and innovation is also getting a new direction. With the increasing participation of women, the scope of entrepreneurship in Uttar Pradesh is continuously increasing and it is giving new impetus to the economic development of the state.
