Before the Bihar assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated 80 new pink buses keeping in mind the safety and convenience of women. Also, e-ticketing facility has been introduced in 1065 buses, which will make the journey even easier, safe and transparent.
Patna: Prior to Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has prepared a special surprise for women. In a program organized at Patna’s Chief Minister’s residence on Monday, he inaugurated 80 new pink buses, which will be run only keeping in mind the journey of women. Along with this, e-ticketing facility was also launched in 1065 State Road Transport Corporation buses.
Security, comfort and convenience of women is the first priority
Only women will be able to travel in pink buses and the drivers and conductors of these buses will also be women. They will be monitored from the control room by installing three CCTV cameras in these buses, so that the frequent security of the passengers can be ensured. Special arrangements have also been made for pregnant women, in which separate seats and special care will be available for them.
What will be the facility
In the first phase, 20 pink buses were run, most of which were serving passengers in Patna. Now this number has increased to 100 in the second phase due to the operation of 80 pink buses. These buses will run in various districts of Bihar and will give women a chance to travel comfortable, safe and economical. The bus also has modern facilities like mobile charging point, panic button, sanitary napkin vending machine.
On this occasion, Nitish Kumar said that this is a big step towards the government’s women empowerment. With their initiative, women of Bihar will be safe and move towards the easy path towards education, employment and social mobility. Nitish also said that through e-ticketing, the public is now getting smart facilities which will make the journey transparent and easy.
