Bihar Women Employment Scheme
Monday brought new hopes for the women of Bihar. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken a concrete initiative towards women empowerment and has provided direct economic benefits to 25 lakh women of the state. In a program organized at his official residence ‘1 Anne Marg’ in Patna, the Chief Minister released crores of rupees in one click through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
Amount of Rs 2500 crore reached directly into account
Full care has been taken of transparency in this initiative taken under the Chief Minister Mahila Rozgar Yojana. The government has sent money directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, eliminating the role of middlemen. A total amount of Rs 2500 crore was released on Monday, due to which an amount of Rs 10 thousand each reached the account of each beneficiary woman. This amount is no less than a boon for those women who wanted to start their own small business or were struggling to improve their existing livelihood. According to officials, this financial assistance is an initial but important step towards making women self-reliant.
PM Modi had started
The foundation of this ambitious plan was laid last year itself. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana’ in Bihar in September 2025. Since then till now this scheme has been continuously expanding. If we look at the figures, till now about 1.81 crore women have received the first installment of Rs 10,000 each under this scheme.
Next big opportunity, you will get Rs 2 lakh
The most attractive aspect of this scheme is that the help is not going to stop at just Rs 10,000. This amount is just the beginning. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made it clear that the government will give more help as a reward to those women who have established their business or employment by making proper use of this Rs 10,000. Such successful beneficiaries will soon be given an additional amount of Rs 2 lakh. The Chief Minister had recently announced that the state government has started the process of providing additional financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh to selected beneficiaries.
