The best thing is that making Thukpa does not take much time or effort. With a few simple ingredients and a little preparation, it’s ready in minutes. Let us tell you how to make it.

Recipe for making Nepal’s ‘Thukpa’

Noodles – 1 packet Beans – 1/4 Cabbage – 1/2 cup (chopped) Onion – 1/2 cup (cut into pieces) Spring Onion – 1/2 cup Carrot – 1/4 cup (cut into pieces) Vegetable broth – 4 cups Oil – 2 tsp Sweet chilli sauce – 1/2 tbsp Soy sauce – 2 tsp Garam masala – as per taste Salt – as per taste Black pepper – as per taste Garlic Buds- 4

Veg Thukpa Recipe

  • First of all, wash all the vegetables thoroughly and cut them into thin long pieces. Now boil water in a pan. Add a little salt and oil, add noodles and boil until soft. Once the noodles are cooked, filter them and keep them aside.
  • After this, heat oil in a deep kadhai or pan. As soon as the oil is hot, add chopped garlic and ginger and fry lightly, so that the aroma starts coming out. Now add all the chopped vegetables to it and fry on high flame while stirring for 2-3 minutes. Keep in mind that the vegetables should not be overcooked, they should remain lightly crisp, then the thukpa tastes good.
  • After the vegetables are roasted, add salt, black pepper powder, soy sauce and a little chili sauce as per taste. Mix everything well. Now add hot water or vegetable stock to it and let it boil on medium flame for 5-7 minutes, so that the flavor of the vegetables comes into the broth.
  • After this, add boiled noodles to the pan and mix gently. Cook for 2-3 minutes more. Finally taste and adjust salt or spices as per requirement. Hot veg thukpa is ready. Add chopped green onion on top and serve it immediately.
