New Delhi: The third grand slam of the season, Wimbledon, is set to begin from June 30 to July 13 at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in London, United Kingdom. The World No.1 Jannik Sinner, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz and seven-time winner Novak Djokovic will compete in the third Grand Slam.
The grass-court tournament was established in 1877 and it is the oldest Grand Slam, which include the Australian Open, the French Open and the US Open. Carlos Alcaraz won the Wimbledon 2024 by defeating Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-2, 7-6(4) in the final while Barbora Krejcikova beat Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 in the women’s singles final.

Prize money
Wimbledon has increased its total prize money for this year’s campaign to 53.5 million pounds ($72.59 million). The singles winner will get three million pounds each, an 11.1 per cent increase from last year. This is also the highest prize money across all Grand Slams.
