Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli Vijay Hazare Trophy: Indian legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are going to participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 tournament. According to reports, both the players will be seen playing for their respective teams. Virat can appear in 3 matches, whereas no update has been received yet regarding Rohit. BCCI is believed to be behind the sudden arrival of both of them in the domestic tournament. Some fans are raising the question that Virat and Rohit are being pressured to participate in domestic tournaments. However, the board has expressed its views on this matter.

Rohit and Virat are in great form

Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from Tests and T20Is. He is going through good form in ODI cricket. Currently playing in the ongoing 3-match series against South Africa. Virat has scored back to back centuries consecutively. At the same time, Rohit had also scored a half-century in the first ODI. The third ODI will be held on 6 December in Visakhapatnam. In such a situation, the tremendous form of both has increased the tension of BCCI. Fans are also continuously attacking the opponents.

What is the whole matter regarding Virat and Rohit?

At the beginning of 2025, BCCI had made it mandatory for the players included in the central contract to participate in domestic tournaments. Due to this rule, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma participated in Ranji Trophy and both played one match each. But, very soon he gave a 440 volt shock to the fans by announcing his retirement from red ball cricket. Now Rohit will play for Mumbai and Kohli for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament starting from 24th December. It is being said in many reports that both are doing this under pressure from BCCI.

BCCI clarified regarding both

In a report by News18 CricketNext, a senior BCCI official said, “Neither Virat Kohli nor Rohit Sharma is being put under any kind of pressure. Both the players have willingly asked to participate in the domestic tournament. They want to maintain match fitness. Due to this, they have shown their availability to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.”
