The troubles of Yash Dayal, the rising star of Indian cricket and left arm fast bowler of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), are not showing any sign of abating. The POCSO Court of Jaipur has rejected his anticipatory bail application on 24 December 2025. This case pertains to serious allegations of sexual exploitation and rape involving a minor girl, in which the police have registered a case under the POCSO Act.

Yash Dayal faces arrest threat

Judge Alka Bansal of POCSO Court No. 3 of Jaipur Mahanagar I clearly said in her decision that from the available evidence and the investigation so far, it does not appear at all that the accused has been falsely implicated. The role of the accused has come to light in the investigation so far and he is yet to be interrogated. It is not that now Yash Dayal will have to go to jail, because he still has the way to go to the High Court. At the same time, Yash Dayal, who is involved in the rape case, has been away from the cricket field since then.

The case was registered in July 2025

On July 23, 2025, a 19-year-old girl had filed a rape case against Yash Dayal at Sanganer Sadar Police Station in Jaipur. The complainant claims that she is a budding cricketer and she met Yash Dayal in 2023, when she was a 17-year-old minor. The victim alleged that Yash exploited her emotionally and physically by promising to help her in making a career in cricket. The first incident took place in 2023, when Yash allegedly called her to a hotel in Jaipur’s Sitapura area and raped her. The victim says that this sequence continued for two years.

RCB retained for IPL 2026

Yash Dayal may be embroiled in a big controversy, but the RCB team has shown confidence in him for IPL 2026. Royal Challengers Bangalore had included Yash Dayal in their team before IPL 2024. He joined this team for Rs 5 crore and played an important role in making the team champion in the last season. Due to which he has been retained for IPL 2026 also.
