Pat Cummins Comeback: Australia has announced its 15-member team for the first test of the Ashes series. Australia’s Test captain Pat Cummins is out of the first match of this Test series to be played against England. But, now there is a big update regarding the return of Cummins, who was not selected in the team for the first Test to be played in Perth due to lower back injury. Pat Cummins is likely to return in the second test of the series.
Cummins started bowling
Pat Cummins, who was injured in the series against West Indies, has started practicing bowling. He bowled 8 overs in the nets on Wednesday i.e. 5th November. Of course, Cummins’ bowling in the nets did not have the same edge and speed that it used to have. But it is expected that by the time the first test starts, he will overcome that deficiency in his bowling.
Ashes expected to return in the second test
The 32-year-old pacer told an Australian journalist that he is feeling much better. And, they are recovering faster than expected. After the first Test is played in Perth, the second Test between Australia and England will be played at Gabba from 4th December. This will be a day-night test, from which Cummins has expressed hope of his comeback.
Cummins is traveling with the team
The Ashes series between Australia and England is starting from 21st November. Pat Cummins is of course not a part of the first Test team. But, he is traveling with the team only. Steve Smith has been made the captain for the first test. In the absence of Cummins, Starc and Hazlewood will take charge of the pace attack.
