According to media reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board has indicated to seek advice from the government to reconsider its decision to boycott the T20 World Cup 2026 match against India. This step is being taken after the request made by Sri Lanka Cricket, in which Pakistan has been appealed to play this big match with India to be held in Colombo on 15th February.

The Pakistan government has given permission to PCB to send its team to the World Cup, but has banned it from playing matches against India. Sri Lankan cricket may suffer loss
Sri Lanka Cricket has sent an email to the PCB saying that if this match does not take place, then Sri Lanka Cricket will suffer huge losses from gate money, hospitality sales and other income. Besides, the image and organization of this tournament jointly organized in Sri Lanka will also be adversely affected. Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva has directly contacted PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and reminded that at this time Sri Lanka needs Pakistan’s support.
