The media and celebrity preview of Ramayana at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi has generated significant buzz around the film. Early reactions from attendees have praised its grand scale, with Yash’s appearance as Ravana in the 3D trailer emerging as one of the biggest highlights.
With the trailer set for its official digital release on July 24, 2026, audiences are now wondering whether they will get an opportunity to experience it on the big screen in select theatres across the country. While the makers are yet to make an official announcement, industry reports suggest that a theatrical 3D rollout is under consideration.
Adding to the speculation, the CBFC recently certified a dedicated 4-minute cut titled “Theatrical Trailer – Ramayana 3D,” strongly indicating that a theatrical rollout is in the works. Although an official confirmation is still awaited, audiences could get the chance to watch the trailer in select 3D and IMAX theatres before its digital release.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features an ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, Ravie Dubey, and Kunal Kapoor. The film is being produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with Monster Mind Creations, with Oscar-winning VFX studio DNEG handling the visual effects.
Touted as the first Indian film shot specifically for the IMAX format, the first installment is scheduled for a theatrical release this Diwali.
