BCCI, U19 Asia Cup: BCCI will review the defeat of the Indian team in the final of Under-19 Asia Cup. The decision on this was taken in the Apex Council meeting of the board held on 22 December. India lost to Pakistan by 191 runs in the final of Under-19 Asia Cup. BCCI will review that defeat and investigate its reasons. Apart from the team’s performance, there is news that BCCI may also take action regarding the behavior of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre in the final.
BCCI will review the defeat
Under the captaincy of Ayush Mhatre, Team India reached the final by winning all the matches. But, in the final which was more important to win, Team India lost badly. The team’s bowling was ineffective and the batting fell apart. Now the news is that BCCI will not only review it but will also ask for an explanation of that defeat from the team management.
Will talk to coach and captain
According to Cricbuzz, BCCI will also talk to its head coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar and captain Ayush Mhatre regarding the team’s performance in the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup. Conversations with the coach and captain will also be a part of BCCI’s team performance review.
Action on the behavior of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre?
There is also a report that BCCI has expressed concern about the behavior of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre in the final of Under 19 Asia Cup and can talk in that matter. However, it is not confirmed whether it is part of BCCI’s review plan or not.
BCCI’s review on the defeat will come soon
India’s Under-19 team now has to go to play the World Cup, which is to be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia. India’s Under-19 team for that ICC tournament is yet to be announced. BCCI is trying to review the defeat in the final of Under 19 Asia Cup before that, so that any other setback i.e. big failure can be avoided in future.
