India Commonwealth Games Bid: The Government of India has approved a bid in 2030 to organize a Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad. The Union Cabinet has also allowed to sign the host cooperation agreement and grant aid to the Government of Gujarat.
2030 Commonwealth Games: The Central Government has approved the bid for the Commonwealth Games (CWG) to be held in India in 2030. The Union Cabinet took this decision on Wednesday. Along with this, the cabinet has also approved signing of host cooperation agreement. On acceptance of the bid, the Government of Gujarat has been assured to provide grant assistance.
Commonwealth Games will be held in Ahmedabad if India wins bid
Ahmedabad has been selected as the host city for 2030 CWG (Commonwealth Games). If India wins the dialect, CWG will be held here. Ahmedabad has a world -class infrastructure, training facility and sports culture required for this. The world’s largest Narendra Modi stadium is here. It has hosted the ICC Mains World Cup to be held in 2023.
72 countries can join 2030 CWG
72 countries are expected to participate in 2030 CWG. Its organizing will create mass employment. Tourism will be promoted and business opportunities will arise in various fields besides sports. India will also try to host an inclusive Commonwealth Games. In this, several medal events removed from the 2026 games will be brought back. Hockey, cricket, badminton, wrestling, table tennis, diving, rugby intakes, beach volleyball, mountain biking, squash and rhythm gymnastics are among the major medal events that were removed from the 2026 games.
What are the Commonwealth Games?
Commonwealth Games is a major international sports event to be held every four years. It mainly takes part in this countries where the British once ruled. It started in 1930. Except for the Second World War, these games have been continuously organized, except in 1942 and 1946.
