Bengaluru: A woman has been caught trying to illegally deliver mobile SIM and drugs to her jailed husband. This case is of Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Jail, where the security personnel caught the woman red-handed. The arrested woman has been identified as Ritika Ray, a resident of Hennur. 5G SIM card, 27 grams of methamphetamine and some tobacco products have been recovered from him. It is being told that three days ago Ritika had gone to meet her husband Farhan who was in jail. During that time, the security personnel became suspicious of his behavior, after which the whole truth came out after a search.
According to the police, Ritika, a resident of Assam, had come to Bengaluru in search of work. A few years ago, she got married for the second time to Farhan, who had a criminal background. Farhan is in jail in an extortion case. Ritika had come to meet her husband with her four-year-old child. Perhaps she thought that when she was with the child, the security personnel would not investigate much and she would easily slip in the drugs and SIM.
When she came to meet her husband three days ago, she had packed the SIM, drugs and tobacco in a cover and hidden it in her undergarments. Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSIF) personnel searched him at the main gate of the jail. During this checking, these banned items were found from him. A case has been registered at Parappana Agrahara police station on the complaint of jail officials. The police have arrested the woman and are taking further action.
