In Hardoi district of UP, a man shot his wife dead inside the Pali police station premises. Five days ago his wife had eloped with her lover, which had upset him. After this incident in the police station, the accused was arrested and two policemen including a woman constable have been suspended.
Police said that Anoop’s 35-year-old wife Soni, a resident of Ramapur Atria in Pali police station area, had left home with her lover five days ago. Anoop had lodged an FIR in this case, in which he had alleged that his wife had taken away jewelery and Rs 35,000 in cash from home.
He said that the police, showing promptness, traced him on Sunday and on Monday, the process of presenting Soni in the court and other legal formalities was going on. Meanwhile, a female constable was taking Soni to feed her in the restaurant located in the police station premises, when her husband Anup, who was ambushed there, attacked her from behind and shot his wife. Sources said that as soon as the bullet was fired, Soni fell on the ground bleeding. The sound of the gunshot created panic among the policemen. The injured woman was immediately taken to the district hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Policemen caught the murdered husband from the spot
Immediately after the incident, alert policemen surrounded and caught Anoop and one of his associates who were running away from the spot. Police have also recovered the weapon used in the murder. On receiving the information, Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena, Additional Superintendent of Police M.P. Singh, Police Area Officer Alok Rajnarayan and police from several police stations reached the spot. The Superintendent of Police said that the investigator of the case and the female constable have been suspended. If anyone else is found guilty, action will be taken against him also. The security lapses inside the police station premises are also being investigated.
