Many women assume that recovery is complete within six weeks of delivery, but this is not entirely accurate. The postpartum phase can extend up to 12 months, during which the body continues to undergo hormonal, physical, and emotional changes. Ignoring follow-up visits during this period can lead to undetected health issues that may worsen over time.
