Why is Yamuna water not kept in the house?

Who is Yamuna ji?
It is described in the scriptures that Yamuna Devi is the daughter of Surya Dev and sister of Yamraj. He is also called Kalindi. Yamraj goes to his sister Yamunaji’s house on Kartik Shukla Dwitiya on Bhai Dooj and blesses that brothers and sisters who will bathe with Yamunajal on this day, that sister’s brother will not have premature death.
Yamuna’s relationship with Yamraj
It is believed that Yamunaji is related to Yamraj, that is, it is forbidden to keep Yamunajal in the house. This can increase the effects of negative energy and Yama in the house, which is why Ganga water is considered to be life -giving, while Yamunajal is limited to using only fast, bath or pilgrimage.
Garuda Purana
It is also mentioned in scriptures like Garuda Purana and Padma Purana that Yamuna water should only be used for pilgrimage or atonement deeds, but it should not be kept permanently in the house, because it can cause death, disease or discord in the house.
Special relationship between Shri Krishna and Yamuna ji
According to mythological beliefs, when Lord Krishna was born, Vasudev ji was taking him from Mathura to Gokul, then Yamuna ji gave him way. Legend has it that Yamuna ji raised his stream to touch Balakrishna’s feet, and then Yamuna became even more sacred by the sacred touch of Krishna. The main center of Lord Krishna’s child pastimes has been Vrindavan and Yamuna coast. The Gopis with Ras, Kalia Nag’s Mardan, and Makhan Chori, all this happened to the Yamuna. Yamuna is considered to be the patrani of Lord Krishna. According to mythological beliefs, Yamuna Maiya had the boon from Lord Krishna that she would always stay at her feet.

According to Vastu Shastra, Yamuna water is a symbol of blackness and instability. Collection of it at home can increase poverty or mental stress. Whereas Ganga water has been said to be defeating all the defects.
