Remember Uday Chopra? Yes, the same guy who played the role of Ali, the overenthusiastic mechanic in the Dhoom franchise. While Uday has taken a step back from acting, he is actively involved in the movies being produced by his family production house, Yash Raj Films. Chopra hasn’t faced the camera since 2013. Recently, the first teaser of , featuring Alia Bhatt, was unveiled on YRF’s YouTube. The character introduction clip has been receiving mixed responses from movie buffs. Uday Chopra’s contribution to Alpha

As soon as Alpha’s teaser released, the internet noticed that the film’s story credit belongs to Uday. The screenplay is written by Soumil Shukla and Shridhar Raghavan; Ishita Moitra has penned the dialogues. Netizens pointed out that the introduction scene of Alpha’s teaser was similar to the 1990 French film  , shot at Le Train Bleu. The teaser begins with Alia celebrating her 18th birthday when Bobby informs her about her ‘first kill’.

Where is Uday Chopra now?

After quitting acting, Uday went to Los Angeles to join a production workshop at UCLA. In 2014, he produced two films. Grace of Monaco was Grace Kelly’s starring Nicole Kidman in the leading role. He produced the Hollywood film The Longest Week, a comedy-drama starring Olivia Wilde and Jason Bateman under YRF’s subsidiary Hollywood production house YRF Entertainment.

In Alpha’s first teaser, Alia is trained to become an assassin by Bobby. She emerges as a killing machine who defeats men double her weight effortlessly. While Alia’s character is introduced,  ’s role is expected to be established in another teaser, rumoured to release on her birthday this month.

Alpha pairs Alia with Sharvari, in this relentless action thriller. It marks Bhatt’s first film with Yash Raj Films. It is also India’s first female-led out-and-out action film, with Alia and Sharvari teaming up to perform action sequences that audiences have never seen women do before on screen.
