Trishul Military Exercise 2025: Before India’s Trishul military exercise, Pakistan has closed many air routes in its airspace. This exercise, to be held near Sir Creek from October 30 to November 10, will be a joint operation of the three armies.
India-Pakistan Border Security: Amidst the preparations for the joint military exercise ‘Trishul’ of the three armies of India (Army, Navy and Air Force), Pakistan has issued a notification banning several routes in its central and southern airspace. However, Pakistan has not given any reason for this NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued for October 28-29, but experts say that it could be related to some military exercise or possible weapon test. The move comes after India started large-scale tri-services exercises near Sir Creek from October 30 to November 10.
Importance of ‘Trishul’ practice
According to analysts, the reserve airspace for the exercise extends up to 28,000 feet and it is being considered as one of the most important joint operational drills in recent years. According to the Defense Ministry, this exercise is being conducted with the aim of showcasing the joint capability, self-reliance and innovations of the military forces. The ministry said that the soldiers of the Southern Command will prepare for joint operations in different difficult areas, including offensive exercises in creek and desert sectors, amphibious operations on the Saurashtra coast and multi-regional operations.
Pakistan’s response and border surveillance
Although such exercises are part of normal security preparedness, Pakistan’s NOTAM indicates that it is keeping a close watch on India’s border activities, especially after Operation Sindoor. Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the Pahalgam attack, in which Indian forces destroyed 9 terrorist camps and 11 military bases as well as airbases inside Pakistan.
Why is Sir Creek so strategically important?
Sir Creek, spread between Gujarat and Sindh province of Pakistan, may appear to be a marshy and deserted area, but its strategic importance is very great. This area is very close to the Arabian Sea and from here India not only monitors the maritime boundaries but can also keep a close eye on Pakistan’s naval activities. This is the reason why India has decided to conduct its ‘Trishul military exercise’ around this area. The location of Sir Creek is an important part of India’s coastal defense strategy and that is why the army keeps a vigilant eye on every step here. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had earlier warned that if Pakistan makes any disturbance in the Sir Creek area, the response will be one that will change both history and geography.
