Former Pakistan player Basit Ali has criticized the team after its defeat by India in T20 WC. According to him, India’s bowling with part-time bowlers like Tilak Verma and Rinku Singh is a slap on Pakistan cricket. This shows the weakness of Pak batsmen.
Colombo: After India’s spectacular win against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, former player Basit Ali has strongly criticized the Pakistan team. Basit Ali openly said that Suryakumar Yadav’s move of testing part-time bowlers Tilak Verma and Rinku Singh during the match is a slap on the face of Pakistani cricket. India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in a thrilling match on Sunday. While chasing India’s target of 176 runs, Pakistan team was all out for 114 runs. After this, during a discussion on a YouTube channel, Basit Ali lashed out at the Pakistan team.
Suryakumar slapped Pakistan on the face
Basit Ali said, “Suryakumar Yadav has slapped Pakistan in the face by making Tilak Verma and Rinku Singh bowl. This is an indication that Pakistani cricket is only worth so much. I am not talking about taking the wickets of Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah or Kuldeep Yadav, but it is a matter of great shame that the Pakistani batsmen could not face even the part-time bowlers.”
When Pakistan’s batting was faltering, Suryakumar Yadav called Tilak Verma to bowl in the 13th over. By dismissing Shadab Khan on his very first ball, Tilak created a record by becoming the second Indian player to take a wicket on his bowling debut in the World Cup. After Tilak, Surya also tried Rinku Singh in bowling. But, Pakistan could score only 9 runs in Rinku’s over also. In the match, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Varun Chakraborty took two wickets each, while Kuldeep Yadav and Tilak Verma got one wicket each.
