According to law, a prisoner is not punished for escaping from jail. This has been mentioned in the German Penal Code. The German Penal Code says that every person’s desire to be free is natural. If a person tries to get his freedom, it means that he is working on the basis of human tendencies. This is the behavior of humans. Not that he is committing a crime.
Many limitations have also been set for prisoners in the German legal system.
What will happen if the prisoner is caught?
Germany’s justice system has always laid emphasis on reform, not punishment. The legal system here says that if a prisoner escapes from jail and is caught, he will be sent back to jail so that he can complete his sentence, but giving a separate punishment to the prisoner for escaping is inhumane.
When will you get punishment?
The German legal system, which does not take a strict stance towards prisoners, has set many limits for them. For example, if a prisoner commits any kind of violence while escaping from jail. If someone attacks any person or guard present there or damages property, he is punished under all circumstances. However, this punishment is given to him for crimes like assault, damage and theft, but not for escape.

What facilities do prisoners get in Germany?
Germany’s attitude towards prisoners can be understood from the facilities available in its prisons. Here every prisoner is given a separate room, in which basic items like bed, place to keep clothes, mirror, separate toilet, soap and toothbrush are provided. In some jails, facilities of TV, radio and small refrigerator are also provided. The prisoners are given three meals a day. They are given options to choose food like vegetarian or non-vegetarian.
To take care of the health of the prisoners, doctors, nurses and psychologists are deployed in every prison of Germany. If the prisoner is seriously ill, he is also allowed to get treatment in an outside hospital. Not only this, arrangements have also been made for the prisoners to study and do business inside the jail.
