Why did Chirag Paswan’s leader burn the effigy of BJP MP in Nawada?

Internal discord in NDA in Nawada. LJP (Ram Vilas) burnt the effigy of BJP MP Vivek Thakur. It is alleged that the MPs are trying to break the upper caste community which is uniting in favor of Jan Suraj, which is challenging the strategy of NDA.

Amidst Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the internal tussle of NDA in Nawada has come out openly on the streets. Youth District President of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Chandan Singh registered a strong protest by burning the effigy of BJP MP Vivek Thakur. During this, slogans of ‘Savarna Ekta Zindabad’ were raised by supporters of Chandan Singh.

Amidst this protest, the program of BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary in Kadirganj, Nawada was also suddenly cancelled, due to which the political turmoil has increased further. Questions are being raised whether this is just local dissatisfaction or the beginning of a break in the NDA?

What is the controversy?

Youth District President of LJP (Ram Vilas) Chandan Singh alleges that the Golden Society in Nawada has started coming united in support of Jan Suraj leader Dr. Anuj Singh, but the BJP MPs are trying to break the unity of the society. He said, “We have been facing political slavery in Nawada for 35 years. Today when the entire Swarna Samaj is uniting, the MPs are trying to disintegrate it. We will not tolerate this under any circumstances. This is not a protest, it is an outrage. If someone weakens the strength of the society, then the answer will also be found on the streets.”

Chandan Singh also targeted the current RJD MLA Vibha Devi, who has been fielded by JDU on behalf of NDA this time. Although the name was not taken directly, the hint was clear.

Are the internal equations of NDA deteriorating?

In Nawada, the Bhumihar community is seen openly going to one side. Anuj Singh of Jan Suraj can get direct benefit from this. At the same time, the situation seems to be becoming more difficult for NDA candidate Vibha Devi. Political analysts say that if caste polarization increases like this, the electoral mathematics will change completely.

Chandan Singh’s warning

Chandan Singh said, “We respect Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but those who break the society will not be tolerated at any cost.” He clearly warned that if a solution is not found at the leadership level, the protests will intensify.

This case in Nawada seems to be indicative not of mere anger, but of systematic political discontent. And if this wave moves forward, then it may prove to be a big strategy challenge for the NDA, not just a seat.
