David Miller walked off the field during Delhi Capitals’ (DC) tense chase against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The South Afrian batter left the field after the 13th over after making 12 runs in 10 balls while the home team still needed 81 runs to win in seven overs.

Miller suffered an injury and could no longer continue batting. He can return to bat later in the innings as it is a ‘retired hurt’ and not a ‘retired out.’
The South African star suffered the injury while putting in a dive in the 12th over to complete a run. He hit two boundaries after the incident but was evidently in pain.
This is Miller’s debut season at the Delhi-based side after being signed for ₹2 crores in the 2026 auction after being released by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The South African has previously spent three seasons at the Titans, which was the most productive spell of his career in the IPL. He also helped them win the title in the 2022 season.
So far, Miller has not had the chance to make a big impact for DC as he did not get a chance to bat against his former side, LSG. He made an unbeaten knock of 21 against the Mumbai Indians (MI) during the six-wicket victory.
Talking about today’s match, the Titans posted a total of 210 on the board. In reply, KL Rahul has led the way with a fine half-century. Miller and Rahul put up a 29-run partnership in just 18 balls before the south African walked off the field.
