Why does mental health deteriorate at a young age?
According to the data of Indian Psychiatric Society, 60 percent of mental illnesses in India are occurring in people below 35 years of age. According to research, 34.6 percent mental disorders start before the age of 14, 48.4 percent before the age of 18 and 62.5 percent by the age of 25. These data show that for most patients, mental illness begins long before adulthood, and gradually begins to impair health.
Experts said that by the age of 25, most cases of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety and eating disorders have been reported. Cases of depression are also appearing at a younger age than before. The Indian Psychiatric Society has warned that when mental disorders start at an early age and are not treated, it can become a serious problem.

Dr Deepak said that several studies indicate that between 2011 and 2021, there has been a 101.7 percent increase in recurrent mental stress among persons aged 18 to 25 years.
