Patna: In view of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, Congress General Secretary and MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday interacted with about 2000 women at the ‘Shakti Adhikar Mahila Samvad’ program held at Sadakat Ashram in Patna. During this time, she not only talked about women’s rights and empowerment, but also explained why women live or distance away from their husbands in many families.
Why do husband and wife live separately?
Priyanka Gandhi said, “When there is a lack of employment in family and society, men have to leave home and go out for wages or jobs. Due to this, women have to bear all the burden of family and house. Women take care of their children and home, while men go away due to economic needs.” In such a situation, husband and wife are forced to stay separate even after being a family.
Women are the backbone of society
Priyanka Gandhi emphasized that women are not only the basis of the family, but also the backbone of the society. But the government and administration do not provide them with enough help. This is the reason why women feel socially and economically insecure. Priyanka Gandhi said, “Your strength and ability are only considering the parties. At the time of elections you are made to know in the name of money and plans, because they know that the government is incomplete without your support.”
Professional women attended the program
Professional women like domestic workers, MNREGA laborers, Jeevika Didi, Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, lawyers and doctors attended the program. The women shared their problems and experiences on the stage.
Priyanka Gandhi called upon women to recognize their rights and power and stand for their honor in the society. During the dialogue, he also took a selfie with women and sang the song ‘Hum Hoga Kamab’.
Priyanka Gandhi left for Motihari after dialogue
